oh no Alex honey I’m so sorry https://twitter.com/swhyno/status/1292948230473502721
Is it too late for him to decide to go to college? hard to think of a team with a worse prospect development program right now
remember when Lias Andersson had to flee the country to get away from their AHL team, and when he got back to Sweden he was so injured he could barely wear skates
Remember when Larry David yelled at them for wasting the gifts of Kappo Kakko
remember how he got seemingly ZERO consistency or support as a newcomer who was still learning English and how the league works and he never had consistent lineys who could teach him stuff
remember how they gave him a billet family in WESTCHESTER so that he had to take pregame naps in a hotel near MSG
remember how they let this happen to Lias Andersson on OPENING NIGHT and watched it become a meme while everyone laughed at him instead of publicly apologizing for PUTTING A CABLE ON THE ICE and a spotlight in his eyes so he couldn’t see it
oh, and the best case scenario of his situation is that NO ONE IN THE ORG KNEW he was injured and depressed and worried about using sleeping pills too much. Part of development is, like, knowing how these kids are doing before they give up their dreams in misery????
One could argue that giving young prospects “help” and “someone to talk to” and the knowledge that they are a person regardless of their points tally is, uhhhh, the bare minimum, not the fairy tale stuff he describes in a later interview
tell me this doesn’t crack your ribcage open.
Remember when they didn’t do even the tiniest amount of due diligence to keep racists spewing slurs out of K’Andre Miller’s Zoom chat, then waited like 10 hours before even addressing it (not to mention expecting him to play on a team with two open racists)
The Kravstov case isn’t quite as dire, but it still isn’t great!!!
