I had a scary experience yesterday. 💀

Cycled back home from my friend’s place and maps directed me through a very long undulating trail, surrounded by tall bushes; it was dark and it started raining heavily. I was just praying the whole time and cycling very fast.
It’s a nice, quiet cycling trail otherwise, and should be great during the day. But that rain and darkness combination made it scary bruh. Saw a total of 4 people inside 35 minutes, including some creepy guy who just stood in the woods, smoking in the dark.
One mind was telling me “Everything will be fine, you should be safe”. The other mind was saying “if you fall and get injured due to the wet ground and speed, how will anyone find you here? If a serial kidnapper comes out of the bushes, o ti tan”. 💀💀
My thighs were BURNING esp at stretches where I had to cycle uphill but omo, I kept matching the thing and looking back occasionally to make sure. The rain was also blurring my vision and at some points, the only real lighting was the dim blinker in front of the bike. Chale
Did I mention that the trail is along a river at some points and part of it goes under a tall overhead bridge, but still inside bush.

It’s not me they’ll use and do headline: “Local man (my enemies) found *redacted* along Lower Don River trail under mysterious circumstances.” 💀
At some points I’d think to myself, “should I just go back, cos this trail isn’t ending”. But back to where? The journey back would also be long and chaotic for my trembling mind.

I thought of my mom. Bad news must never go to nne’m oma. We must make it home in one piece. 😔
I now saw a squirrel (or whatever that creature was) stood in the middle of the trail. I stopped. The thing was looking at me and I was looking at it. I stamped my feet, it didn’t move o. (Is this the fabled “bush baby”? 💀)

After some seconds I started cycling towards it...
... the thing sha ran into the bush eventually and climbed a tree. Thank you Jehovah. Another hurdle cleared.
After another ~1.5km, I started sighting some buildings around my neighborhood but I wasnt close yet. There were also some sharp bends and I’d ring the bell profusely as I approached, just in case. I came closer and closer to home with a grateful heart.
I eventually got to my street and docked the bike at the kiosk. My thighs were like Ronaldo’s own. I just dey limp dey enter house like say I just play 120minutes for World Cup finals. The rain subsided too.

Alas, your boy made it home hale and hearty. Enemies ntoiiii.
I’ll go through that trail again but when I feel like doing adventure. And it’ll have to be in the morning dear. Also, e no go bad to carry small shiny (in case).

Anyway we bless God.

Baba God bonju.
