A group of Tory MPs + Lords wrote today:

I will tag/name them below and then address them..

I want to say a few words to you who thought it appropriate to use this sort of language

I am not going to even mention the govt, the PM or anything of the sort. I am NOT talking as a remainer, pro-EU, a liberal, British, European etc.. I address you as simply a human being
This sort of language is extremely dangerous and resembles the sort of language used in Nazi Germany; we all know what that led to.

They claimed an 'invasion of Jews'; you are claiming an invasion of migrants'
Your increasingly dangerous and divisive rhetoric is against migrants who like me and you want to live a decent life.
The only difference between them and us is that we are very fortunate people.

We have a warm home to go to, we have enough food to eat, some of you are very comfortably well off, some of us less so but compared to desperate people, we cannot complain!!
I am sure this evening you have been at home, many of you having a nice dinner with your partners and children. Sit down and really reflect on your rhetoric

Really think about what you have just said.

Think whether those people extremely desperate are able to do the same as you
Putting actual politicial issues to one side, you claim to want a 'Global Britain' - one that projects its 'values' to the world.

Do you want a Britain that treats people as 'invaders' and 'enemies' . Do you want a Britain which just spews propaganda?
Kim Jong Un spews propaganda in North Korea every day claiming to be the envy of the world when actually it is anything but that.

Is this the sort of failed state you want your 'Global Britain' to be? Or do you want it to be one of compassion and wanting to do good?
Your rhetoric regarding migration is actually completely incorrect, including that of the Home Secretary @pritipatel

Your lack of understanding of international rules does not endear us to allies in the world, whether it is our European Neighbours or further afield.
For what is worth, one look at reality will tell you that France and Germany accept far more migrants than us.

You will probably not agree but despite some opposition by the usual suspects, Angela Merkel offering refuge to 1.1m refugees fleeing war was an amazing gesture.
No one even claimed we should necessarily accept 1.1m.

I urge you to stop this xenophobic rhetoric, it is an embarrasement to our country and international standing. We also will end up with BAME communities who will be made to feel alienated and very unwelcome which is wrong
For what it is worth, internationally we should work with our EU partners and share the load.

Cases should be processed fairly and efficiently whilst ensuring migrants' human rights are not abused.

Lazily stating "they should be sent back to France" is cheap and wrong
We are not some exceptional special case because we are the UK, neither is any other European country.

We have to work together; the rhetoric of cutting aid will end up having the opposite effect to what you desire which is for people to not feel that they have to flee
Rather than the rheteric of division, as elected MPs, you should be trying to solve issues, not inflame them.

We have been through a Covid crisis with the HIGHEST death rate in the whole of Europe. We have had hundred of millions of £ wasted on dodgy PPE contracts..
We have the end of the transition period which without getting into the politics of it is not going to be smooth sailing.

We have so many issues but ladies and gentlemen, you have instead chosen to focus on red dinghys...putting it like that should tell you how ridiculous it is
The only thing I expect of you is to sit down and reflect....and simply apologise for this sort of rhetoric.

This is not about my politics or anything else. This is about the interests and our values and what we wish to project to the world.

Many thanks.
