Without wanting to get into yet another argument for five years, there is literally no other excuse for eating meat and dairy for human beings who don't need to eat meat and dairy to stay alive apart from "it tastes good" - and what kind of fucked up, indulgent excuse is that?
To clarify my position: Meat and dairy does taste good. It tastes fucking *amazing*. I crave bacon, roast chicken, croissants, lamb shank, a cool glass of milk.
But I crave these things like I crave cigarettes. I don't need them, I just want them, because they taste good.

"Because I like it" doesn't strike me as a particularly well thought out ethical position.
It strikes me as the height of hedonism and the abandonment of ethics. I'd be interested in any arguments against.
