Thread:

I enjoy hard, offbeat, puzzles.

Like crossword, sudoku, or logic puzzles on steroids.

Often part of the puzzle is figuring out the rules of the puzzle itself.

If you& #39;re as nerdy as I am and interested in them, here& #39;s where to find these:

Puzzled Pint ( @PuzzledPint) is a monthly event held in local bars around the world.

You have to solve a puzzle to find where it& #39;s located each month.

Not a competition - just for fun.

And they put old puzzle packs on their website.

DASH ( @playdash) is an annual daylong event in many cities around the world where they create a story around hard puzzles.

It& #39;s usually in September, but they haven& #39;t announced this year& #39;s yet.

Montague Island Mysteries is a book of weird, very hard logic puzzles by R. Wayne Schmittberger.

My wife and I had a lot of fun doing these together.

And there are two sequels.

The St. Valentine& #39;s Day Massacre and Independence Day Fireworks are each annual games.

You get an atlas and a set of tricky route instructions.

You virtually follow the instructions in the atlas and answer questions, while avoiding the tricks.

And of course there& #39;s escape rooms.

You& #39;ll likely have many rooms of different brands where you live, so check reviews.

In Los Angeles, I& #39;ve had a great experience at every @60outEscapeRoom I& #39;ve gone to.

I& #39;ve looked into mystery box subscriptions like Hunt a Killer.

From reviews, they seem way overpriced and not very good.

So I haven& #39;t tried them.

I& #39;d love to hear if anyone& #39;s had experience with these.

I don& #39;t claim to be aware of every offbeat hard puzzle in existence, so if there& #39;s any I missed, please let me know.

And if you found this thread useful, please like/RT the top tweet, to help out other huge nerds like us.
