This weekend, I introduced my nearly-75-year-old mom to The West Wing.
And she LOVES it.
We’re on “Mr. Willis of Ohio” and she laughed so hard at the cold open poker scene (“There are three words, and three words only, in the English language that start with the letters ‘DW’...”)
Now she’s asking me if Charlie and “the girl from Handmaid’s Tale” get together. ❤️
After a break to feed her hummingbirds, we’re knee-deep in “The State Dinner.”
I’m afraid she’s getting too attached to Moira Kelly’s Mandy character...should I warn her?
Okay, she fell asleep on “Enemies,” but made it as far as Mallory asking Sam to an opera performed in Chinese with the “almost guarantee of no sex at all.”
And, prior to the nap and at the end of “The State Dinner” as President Bartlet speaks to the young man in the radio shack of a tiny ship facing 80-foor waves, we both got a little emotional.
Okay, we’re back to it. Just finished “Enemies” and mom thorougly enjoyed President Bartlet and Leo toying with Sam.

#Funfact: Mom (again, nearly 75) confessed to having a huge crush on @GStephanopoulos and I soon after realized she *had never seen The West Wing*
And now we’re onto The Short List, I’m kinda jazzed that she’s going to get such a pure viewpoint of the Supreme Court nomination process.
She’s SO into West Wing. She saw @GraceandFrankie before WW—she loves anything with Martin Sheen.
Mom also loves @Richard_Schiff on @GoodDoctorABC and she loves him even more now that she’s seeing Toby for the first time.
