Hey there, Google is aware people aren’t visiting your campus. So, while you weren’t watching, they’ve begun tweaking with your SERP.

Your SERP is your digital welcome center. Google has added a few things to it.
On the mobile version, there is a “call” button. It is decently well-placed, right in the top left-hand corner. And, based on a new update on the desktop version, one that was getting some love.

Google recently added “call” to the Knowledge panel on the desktop version.
To be clear, they aren’t doing this because they think the design looks nice, or they had a committee to determine what should appear on the SERP.
They are doing it because people are calling.

Enrollment professionals, who do you think is calling?
It is probably more students and parents, but it is also probably more prospective students and parents.
I'd make sure a person answers the phone. That goes with the number on the Facebook Page, too.

Another thing they have added is an image slug on the left-hand side.
It used to be only schools who were doing proper SEO got an image slug, but Google recognizes that images of the school are important in an era where we can’t visit IRL.
So, images are there.

You can help Google by calling your image what it is. Not img4567.jog, but [school]academicquadinfall.jog. And tag it with school, fall, campus, the names of all the buildings on the shot, etc.
This will help Google organize your images.

I just recently Googled a school named after a founding father and the entire image slug was just pictures of him. No campus shots. So, Google could use your help.
They want to make a good Digital Welcome center. They can't do it alone.
