wait traitor!denki but with a twist

denki comes from a villainous family and is highly trained with his quirk (but acts like a dunce for show) and gets into ua to aid in all mights downfall. he was raised to become a villain. BUT after slowly growing closer to the bakusquad

and letting them in, he starts second guessing his plans, so he makes the decision that hes going to rebel against his family. so he tells the bakusquad everything thats going on because he knows they'll always be there for him, and they'll always be his best friends.

its no secret that each of them would take a bullet for the others (even bakugou). so now with the help of the bakusquad, denki works on becoming the person he wants to be and not just the mold his parents wanted, and he uses his information for good instead of continuing

his family's plan. he's scared that no one will trust him anymore, but mina especially makes certain that he knows that everybody else doesn't matter. bakugou calls him a dumb fuck for thinking they'd ever leave him, in his own fashion. kirishima and sero both make sure denki

knows just how much he's truly loved, and that no matter what, he's not his family. jirou, tokoyami, momo, and shinsou also makes sure he knows that they have his back. shinsou and denki connect on a different level than they did before, because they were both "suppose" to become

villains, but neither of them wanted that path. they comfort each other when other people judge them wrongly, and they both grow together, and do their best to overcome trauma together. tokoyami, jirou, and bakugou give denki a space to vent out his anger and frustration through

music in their band together. on especially rough nights when he's remembering everything his family put him through, he calls the other three up and without any questions, they just have a jam session. no one mentions it when denki's fingers begin to bleed and he pops a string

from how hard he's playing. aizawa was one of the biggest helps through this though. because even though he's harsh on denki for his own good, he also acts as a father figure for him since he knows his history and his family. he gives him extra help on his academic studies

because he knows denki has adhd, and has to work twice as hard as everyone else, and it's harder for him to learn in the classroom environment. he also gets extra help from momo. sometimes, when everyone else goes home for the weekends except for shinsou and denki, aizawa decides

to stay with them and have movie marathons in the common room. their sensei threatens them not to mention it to anyone, but they both know aizawa secretly has a soft spot for the two teens. he willingly took them under his wing, and if anyone says something about them while he's

around, they're a dead man. denki thought things wouldn't ever get better for him, that deep down inside he really is a villain, and that really, he would always be the outsider. the third wheel. someone disposable. but then there's fleeting moments where things seem okay again,

and maybe, just maybe, he can be bigger than his demons and learn to grow from his trauma instead of letting it define him. like when he and bakugou go on double dates with momo and jirou, or mina and hagakure, despite the ash blonde's reluctance. or when iida and momo spend

extra time making sure he processed what they learned in class that day. or when he, mina, and sero all hang out in mina's dorm room, getting their nails painted and complaining about their lovers. or when sero gushes to him about iida, and for a second, he feels like people care

about what he thinks and that he has meaning to people. he wants to keep feeling this way. he really, really, really, wants to keep fucking feeling this way. because it's been so long since he's felt any sort of warmth, and now that this light has just barely grazed his

finger tips, he wants to grasp it entirely in his hand and hold onto it forever more. it really is hard to love himself, but everyone is right. he isn't his family. he never will be. he's going to become the best damn hero he can and prove his pathetic excuse of relatives wrong.

because he knows they were never his real family. his real family is bakugou. his real family is mina, sero, kirishima, jirou, and shinsou. his real family is aizawa. his real family is every single person that's kept his heart beating and made him feel...

worth it.

because kaminari denki refuses to be what's expected of him.

because kaminari denki is a hero.

not a villain.

and he lives to prove people wrong.
