How to build a 6-figure($100K/yr) freelancing business in under a year...

A <super> short thread...
Back again with another thread.

As usual — slap an RT on this if you find it useful + if you think others would find it helpful.

Anywho, let’s dive, in future 6-figure earners.
The A-Z process I’m going to lay out, is fairly straightforward.

Building a business in theory, is easy.

In practice, it’s not.

For a variety of reasons (info overwhelm, lack of focus, vision, etc...)

My advice?

Follow the process for 6-months.

Give yourself that.
Step 1 👉🏻 Skill selection

There are two ways to go about this:

• Pick a skill you want to learn, such as sales, copy, paid-traffic, SEO, wed design, or..

• Leverage a skill you already have

I prefer the latter.

But I’ll leave this part up to you.
Step 2 👉🏻 Find Your Market

Next up, find a market that has a problem you can solve, where the value enables you to charge a high price.

That’s the advice most people give.

But...

There are plenty of markets like that, which aren’t super viable.

Here’s my advice:
Run any niche you’re about to pick through the following test:

• Is my market visible (aka can I point them out)

• Is my market targetable (can I find where they congregate online & get in front of them)

• Are they repeatable (is there a lot of people in my market)
Step 3 👉🏻 Find problems

Any market you pick might have multiple problem you can solve.

Pick one.

Pick the one that they’re aware of.

There’s nothing worse than educating the market on their problem (this comes with time).
To find which problem they’re aware of, take a peak at forums, trade-magazines, websites, call people in your market.

This is “market research” comes into play, and its easy to see why it’s so important.

Anyways...
Step 4 👉🏻 Create your offer

I already covered that, so if you want to read my other thread, go here:

Step 5 👉🏻 Where they congregate

Find out where your market congregates online — in all likelihood it will be multiple platforms.

Pick one.

When I started my biz, my market was on LinkedIn, so I spent all of my time there.

You want volume.

So find where they ALL congregate.
Step 6 👉🏻 Your sales letter

In most cases, you’re going to be using social media to find clients.

You need to consider your profile like a sales letter — when your ideal client lands on your profile, they should know:

• How you can solve their problem

Simple.
This means:

❌ No cat memes
❌ No drunk pictures
❌ No political shit (early on)

Be professional.

Post content related to your markers problems (that they’re aware of).

Content won’t be a needle mover early on, but’s is important you stay consistent.

(It will pay off)
Step 7 👉🏻 Outreach

Depending on where your market congregates you’ll be using either:

FB
Twitter
LinkedIn
Cold email
Instagram DMs

Any combination of the above.

The process (regardless of which platform you’re using is the same) 👇🏻
1. Engage with their content before messaging them

(People get this so wrong).

I’d rather send a warm email, vs a cold email — engaging with content is how you do this.

2. Personalize messages

3. Follow up consistently

👇🏻
I actually filmed an entire training on our system for outreach.

Check it here ( http://www.churchofclientology.com/legion-of-leads ).

But let’s continue...👇🏻
Step 8 👉🏻 Sales process

Early on, your goal will be volume.

My advice is to send out:

30 cold personalized cold emails/day.

And 50-100 LinkedIn connects (if your market is on LinkedIn).

You should be able to land 1-2 clients/mo (MIN) with those numbers.

BUT
You also need a good sales process.

And like I said, your goal is call volume early on (so you can get the reps) and quality later on.

I wouldn’t do super heavy qualifying.

But, the goal of your organic outreach is to book 15-minute “chats.”

A big problem I see..
Is guys try to sell their services through cold email.

That’s wrong.

What you’re trying to sell, is the next step — which is a 15 minute chat where you qualify them, and use it as an added touch point.

Then, you transition to a longer 30-45min sales call.
Your close rate will be terrible early on.

Like 1/20 bad lol.

Don’t worry, it’s to be expected.

Don’t get discouraged.

Follow this process.

You will sign clients, if you’re consistent.
To summarize the key parts:

• Find where your market is online
• Turn your profile into a sexy sales letter
• Produce content which resonates with your market
• Be consistent in daily outreach (this part is simple)
• Focus on sales volume over quality

And STAY AT IT.
Now this was basic.

But I’m not exaggerating when I say, this is the same process my students follow.

It works.

Because there’s beauty in simplicity.
