reasons i ship nimulot

fire - water : i love the idea of a couple representing elements ( specifically water and fire ) like zutara. i’m a firm believer that opposites attract. Cursed has confirmed that lancelot represents fire so....

similar experiences : tw// abuse, childhood trauma ?

nimue and lancelot were both resented by the people around them. both were seen as outsiders for being “demon born” (nimue born of dark magic). they share these things and i think that has a potential to connect them together

arthur : i personally do not see chemistry between arthur and nimue and felt he was a bit jealous that she got the throne. as well as this , i love arthur and guinevere and the show hinted at it in ep 10.

enemies to lovers : imo, the best trope out there. adds more to the relationship and makes it less....simple.

lancelot : I WANT LANCELOT HAPPY. He was a villain, i’m not in denial abt that. but i love redemption arcs and he was not born “evil”. people change. i want lancelot to have a happy ending and i think that would go well with nimue.

squirrel/percival : lancelot and nimue both have a parental type bond with squirrel. it would be so cute if they were together to look after and raise him as their own.

toxicity : i’ve seen people call it toxic. however, nimue and lancelot have not met yet. i don’t see how it can be toxic already. Also, merlin killed innocent fey people, but nimue forgave/ was on a path to forgiving him. i think the same can happen with her forgiving lancelot.

ok so i’m probs going to just keep adding to this as the ideas come in. but i’ve seen some say that nimulot and lancelot redemption arc is reinforcing that “abusers can change”. Nimue and lancelot are not in a relationship. they haven’t even met. +

lancelot has not abused nimue. therefore it’s not an abusive relationship. he isn’t an abuser.
