Thread:
Dr Umar Al-Qadri - The Oxymoronic Imam.

This week's #LaughNotHate thread looks at the Islamic theologian who can simultaneously hold two contradictory positions, embrace two opposing ideas and maintain two mutually exclusive identities.
1/20
Al-Qadri is "Irish" when welcoming the Pope.. except the following month he's Dutch and can't even vote here.
2/20
Al-Qadri says giving up your Islamic identity is forbidden and you should be ashamed if you do it.

Helps Sinead O'Conner give up her Christian identity.

Football:
Al-Qadri supports the Irish against the Dutch.. except he supports the Dutch against the Irish.
4/20
The Islamization of #CrokePark was Al-Qadri's idea.. except it was'nt.
5/20
Al-Qadri denounces discrimination & champions equality for all.
When Irish Christian festivals & pilgrimages were cancelled due to #Covid he wrote to Taoiseach requesting an exemption for Muslims (also asked for a "dispensation" to max 200 people rule to allow 500 attend).
6/20
Because Mecca is sacred, only muslims are allowed to enter the city.
Al-Qadri calls Croker the "Irish Spiritual Mecca" yet wants non-Irish muslims to be allowed take it over.
7/20
In 2018 Al Qadri is going bald.. except in 2020 he's not.
8/20
Al-Qadri's irrational fear of heights is not a crime.. but if you point out jihadi barriers then that's a criminal *phobia*.
9/20
Al Qadri says "Love needs to be shared", then spreads hate by calling peace-loving "Generation Ireland" evil.
10/20
Al-Qadri's position on abortion was the same as described in the 8th Amendment.
Nevertheless he supported #Repeal because "we seek to protect the rights of the unborn child".
Gets called out for "bizarrely contradictory views".
11/20
Similar to #repeal charade, Al-Qadri justifies need for new #hatelaws by citing cases already covered by existing incitement to hatred laws.
On new legislation he says "People have the right to criticise Islam" but really contradicts that when he name-drops *Islamophobia*.
12/20
And now for some good news.. under coming Hate Laws, criticising the Saudi regime's human rights abuses will not get you locked up.
13/20
Al-Qad talks "fundamental values" & cites 1916 proclamation.
Hate Laws remove constitutional protections (Freedom of Expression, Equality before the Law etc) in favour of a 2-tier justice system giving Al-Q "protected minority" privilege & making it a crime to offend him.
14/20
Al-Qadri uses mass-shooting in NZ to call for collective punishment of the Irish via new Hate Laws.

When Ryanair boss says single muslim men travelling on their own should be profiled by airport security (to hinder jihadis) Al-Qadri calls comments "irresponsible".
15/20
With his gift for double-talk, Al-Qadri does not take what others say at face value.

When #BurntheBurka was trending a female journalist used this hashtag slogan(from Iranian female emancipation movement).
Al-Q inverted the meaning to "a call for assaults on muslim women"
16/20
Al-Qadri tries to solve the *Religion of Peace* conundrum on O'Connell street..
"We are peaceful except.. how can we be peaceful?"

17/20
Al-Qadri is not out to convert schoolkids who go on class visits to his Mosque.. except he is.

You should not be afraid to use the words "Islamist extremism".

But if you use the word "Islamic extremism" then that is #Islamophobia (& new #HateLaws will apply).

@ciarakellydoc and @SusanMitchell_ get a lesson in Islamo-semantics.
19/20
And to play us out, here's a duet featuring *Shuhada* and the man who finally tamed Sinead O'Conner (sans religious sunglasses & Tommy Cooper hat).
Peace out.
