Some context on #COVID19 in Manitoba.

We now have more active cases, province-wide, than we did in April, when returning international travellers sparked a rash of cases in Winnipeg.
Most of the active cases - 7 out of 8 - are now outside Winnipeg.

Most of those are connected to known cases, including a cluster of more than 40 in Brandon.
If people outside Winnipeg weren’t taking this seriously before, they ought to be now.

Weeks of low or nonexistent new case counts may have given people a false sense of security.
Winnipeggers as well appear to be losing their vigilance, anecdotally, anyway.

Nothing is preventing an outbreak here now besides, perhaps, luck.
Ontario, which is 10 times Manitoba’s size by population, is reporting far fewer cases per capita a day.

Manitobans need to display more vigilance.
That doesn’t mean a new lockdown.

It just means not socializing indoors, primarily, and following hygiene/distancing advice.

That advice may very will turn into new restrictions if the trend continues to be negative.
