It’s that we’re tired of “debating” our validity as human beings.

We’re tired of you using your over-simplified misunderstanding of complex biological science to tell us we should be ashamed for existing.

We’re tired of hearing you say you wanna give us your opinion when that opinion includes: “Who you are as a person is fundamentally wrong.”

We’re tired of you saying that we’re “doing it for attention” when we often lose our family and friends when coming out.

We’re tired of being blamed for the predatory actions of cis men when all we want to do is just take a piss in safety.

We’re tired of the double standard that cis kids can know and be comfortable in their gender at any age, but trans kids are “too young to really know”.

We’re tired of being told to wait until adulthood when our natal puberty does irreversible physical and psychological damage.

We’re tired of being told “The Trans™︎ wanna perform surgery on children” when all we do is give them puberty blockers.

We’re tired of intersex people being erased and having unconsenting surgery performed on them as infants to assign them within the “acceptable” binary.

We’re tired of being told we’re “obsessed with gender” when languages, societies, and economies constantly divide things into a “male” or “female” binary.

We’re tired of the “jokes” you make at our expense and then telling us we’re “snowflakes” when we call you out on it.

We’re tired of being told we want “special treatment” when the only thing we want is to be respected with a change of one or two syllables when referring to us.

We’re tired of you correcting people on the misgendering of your pets while simultaneously saying “switching is hard”.

We’re tired of the hoops we have to jump through to have our legal documents corrected, only to have the changes denied because the judge didn’t like us.

We’re tired of religion being used to deny us when the Bible says absolutely nothing about trans people.

We’re tired of you entering our spaces when we’re most vulnerable and telling us we’ll “never REALLY be“ the gender we are.

We’re tired of you telling us we’re “not really oppressed”, and then defending the people who refuse to give us healthcare and housing.

We’re tired of being systematically and financially denied hormones and surgeries we need and being told they’re “medically unnecessary”.

We’re tired of being disrespected and misgendered, and then having you explain to us why it’s okay for you to use slurs that get us killed.

We’re tired of you minimizing the disproportionate murders of trans women, especially Black trans women and trans women of color.

We’re tired of being told the statistics of trans suicide rates and then being told we should just kill ourselves.

We’re tired of being told we don’t belong in our own community when so much of the fight for queer rights was led by trans and GNC people.

We’re tired of being fetishized in the shadows and online, and then spit on and discarded as “disgusting freaks” by daylight.

We’re tired of being told we’re “reinforcing gender stereotypes” and then being told we can’t get medicine because we’re not “woman” or “man” enough.

We’re tired of being told we’re “a trend” when there are countless historical accounts of our existence throughout history.

We’re tired of being told that trans women have “male privilege” when we are constantly denied or fired jobs from jobs for having the audacity to be ourselves.

We’re tired of trans men and non-binary people being erased from every conversation about trans folx in the media.

We’re just fucking tired.

So no. We’re not gonna listen to your “different view”, because we already know your side. We live in a world that enforces it every goddamn day.

If you really want to have a conversation with us, you’d better come ready with open ears and closed lips.
