So, my youngest son is catching the @instructables bug. He wants to enter the “Can’t Touch This” project sponsored by @makeymakey. His idea- an automated toothpaste dispenser. We spent the weekend looking at how-to videos, drawing designs, and making a proof of concept
... his to do for this week is to update his “maker journal” with notes about how well it works (and flaws) so that we can design and print a 3D version... with a goal of making it automated with Circuit Python (stretch goal).
Ideally, we’d use some combo of TOF sensors, servo/motors, led segment displays, and @adafruit feathers to build a unit that knows when a toothbrush is present, dispenses the toothpaste, and starts a 2 min timer. Again, all of that is a stretch... but we’ll see what happens
One last thing... we followed the high level build in this video to make our prototype
