This is an important read.

And I have a thread in me right now, so let’s get into it... https://twitter.com/elizabethjdias/status/1292437478285205504
The evangelicals have figured out something that seems to still be elusive to so many of us on the left side of the spectrum.

It is how to think about political candidates as public transport instead of a spouse:

We are bringing knives to a gunfight.

Biden is the last candidate standing. It’s time to move away from conversations about whether he’s worthy of our vote.

It’s time to come to the table with a concrete list of demands.
We are renegotiating social contracts right now but if you’re not paying attention, your needs will be ignored.
Do not wait for some messiah of social justice to show up and save us.

It *is* us. @vaisfourlovers said some wise words the other day that I wrote down:

“There is no solo version of this. You can build the group that asks you to be more in line with your values everyday.”
The article above shows that’s exactly what evangelicals are doing.

A quote from it: 🧐
“I guess the biggest concern for me is trying to keep our country the way it was. Conservative. The values. For us, I mean, this is as good as it gets. We can do whatever we want...”
The GOP mission is hegemonic control, by any means necessary. They will not be dialing it back anytime soon.

So what I need y’all to know is that your vote in November (if that even happens) is your moment to get on the bus, it is not the end destination.
So let’s start talking about where that bus needs to be going, and some different routes we can take.
