I really really really miss our regular parish in 后八家。It still isn’t re-opened. However, an August Sunday evening Mass in an air-conditioned place is ok

If there is a bright spot in this time among the Catholic parishes in 北京, it might be the increased frequency of Masses. 15 Aug is the Feast of the Assumption. Our temporary home had 1 Mass last year & next week will have 2. 北堂had 4 in 2019; in 2020 9 Masses for 圣母升天瞻

Last night 后八家 church announced finally permitted to open, w 2 Masses this Sunday. Seating is limited to 120 (!) each Mass. We’re ok at 西三旗, so I’m waiting to make a decision. I don’t want to take a ticket from someone who can only go to 后八家 https://mp.weixin.qq.com/s/pVacMkEWTZGwOzHunjUBtA

In our parish group chat, someone asked why our parish wasn’t having Aug 15 Mass like other parishes. The response hinted that 海淀区 was being strict. I poked around the booking miniprogram. I think in that district only my parish & a few mosques are open and only one day/week

I searched for 海淀教堂, a big Christian Church in the same district as mine. They didn’t appear to have a listing in the religious venue booking system. I found their WeChat, and it appears they are still live-streaming their services, 2 of them each Sunday
