he gets points for being a loving dad, but they are outweighed by the negative points he gets for being obnoxious in every other way, including blatantly fucking with their relationship and treating Susan like shit for YEARS

she also has bulletproof self-esteem no matter what life throws at her, a healthy sense of humor about herself, doesn’t put up with mistreatment from men and is a lot of fun.

Janice is a terrific example of one of the central problems of “Friends”, where an otherwise totally likeable person is framed as unreasonable or insane or obnoxious from the point of view of one of the mains, even when THEY are actually the person being shitty (JUSTICE FOR MONA)
