So MCU Spider-Man. He’s a weird fella. So I decided to make a thread of how I would have introduced him to the MCU, and what changes need to be made to his existing appearances.
ORIGIN

HOW LONG HAS HE BEEN FIGHTING CRIME?
I would say Peter is fairly new to this thing, only having been Spidey for 2 years or so, he doesn’t fight any especially big villains yet. But I would make it so he has somewhat of a presence before his true introduction

NOTE: This thread is ignoring legal stuff, so keep that in mind. Establishing Spider-Man’s presence early on couldn’t happen realistically. This shouldn’t be said but whatever
CIVIL WAR
Instead of the Stark bullshit I would establish Peter as a photographer for the Bugle per usual. His job this time is to go to Germany and take photos of the heroes. He ends up getting involved in the battle and unlike the film we got Peter would actually think about

I would still make May actually care for Peter outside of just Homecoming. Michelle would play a role closer to Ultimate Mary Jane and Ned would probably be removed or working for the Bugle at one point. Flash would actually be fleshed out more instead of a gener

ic rich Instagram streamer bully. The only one who would know is identity is Michelle. Actually I would just ditch the Michelle crap and just make her Mary Jane, personality and all. Zendaya isn’t a bad pick for MJ but she isn’t Mary Jane at all so
THE SUIT AND GADGETS
Before we move on I want to touch on this a little. Peter makes a prototype suit at first similar to the 70s live action show (This was a concept in the MCU anyways). But an actual professional suit would be made by Leo Zelinsky instead of Tony

As for gadgets. The Spider-Belt and Tracers. That’s it. I’m going fully traditional for this one. Also Peter would have the 70s type suit for the entirety of Civil War, maybe he visits Leo sometime during Homecoming idk
SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING
Now we get into Spidey’s first solo flick. Vulture is still motivated by Tony Stark, and he terrorizes the city with the tech he recovered with his men. Peter gets photos of Spidey fighting against them and the strange technology they’re using for Jonah.

Now this is where Stark is involved. Tony would try to keep Spider-Man out of the situation, and the two argue due to Tony trying to keep Spidey from solving the problem himself because Stark has it under control. Peter isn’t taking any of Stark’s shit and goes after Vulture anyw
ay. I would still keep Pete dating Liz and the reveal that Toomes is her father, because that’s a good twist. Maybe Liz would have more of a reaction to Spidey causing her father to be locked away?

One last note: Jonah would still do his usual Spider-Man is a menace routine, maybe blaming him for the Chitauri fuckery that’s been happening or “Spidey And Vulture Team Up!”
HOMECOMING FINAL NOTES
So I didn’t address several things during the Homecoming portion of the thread. The big one is the Iron Spider. In my version, Tony would change his mind about Spider-Man, and offer him a new suit and a spot on the Avengers. Pete declines,

saying that he would rather continue protecting the city and his neighborhood on his own instead of being on a team, and then he leaves. Don’t know if I will keep the identity reveal in this version but if I did then I would address the aftermath a bit in Infinity War
INFINITY WAR:
Instead of the school bus scenario in the final film, Peter is giving Jameson some photos he took the week before of Spider-Man fighting some bikers. However, Peter notices the invasion outside and slips out to change into Spider-Man, Jameson thought

the photos were garbage anyway. Spider-Man goes to Greenwich Village and assists the other heroes and saves civilians if needed.
Spider-Man saves the civilians first, taking them to a place where they won’t get harmed, and then tries to fight against Cull. He is overpowered and thrown across the field. He gets back up and tries to fight him again with Iron Man trying to back him up but the two fail.
Maw chases after the unconscious Strange, Spider-Man and Iron Man decide to split up. Spider-Man decides to keep Obsidian at bay while Iron Man goes after Strange. Spider-Man runs from Obsidian in order to mess with him. Wong thinks that Spidey had the right idea and
opens up a portal to Antarctica so Obsidian can run into it. He does, and the portal closes. Spider-Man decides to stay on Earth and help out in case anything else happens.
I would establish one more detail here. Peter takes some photos during the fight, hoping that maybe this invasion would give him a bonus from Jameson so he can pay for suit repairs at Leo’s which he would have tried to do earlier.
Yep, Peter is using the prototype suit again, because his regular suit is too damaged. Peter got money from Jameson but that was to pay rent so he needs more to pay for the suit repair fee
Oh yeah, before I forget: Aunt May. Peter graduates in Homecoming and was supposed to celebrate with her but because of Vulture he was a bit busy. He comes home and May accidentally finds him with the damaged suit on. I would
have some throwaway dialogue that would fill details in like “May would probably be worried sick right about now! Especially after she found out my secret...”
Anyway, we see Peter go to Jameson. He presents photos of Spider-Man dealing with the invasion, and he loves them. He immediately starts printing papers with this headline: “Spider-Man Destroys City! Alien Invaders Involved...”
I didn’t want to make Spider-Man’s involvement here incredibly big like in the final film, I wanted to focus more on a street level side of events using Spidey, so he doesn’t go to space or whatever.
Peter instead of focusing on his suit decides to go the the New Avengers Facility because he opens his phone to see a message from Rhodey who contacted him because they might need backup. Peter doesn’t like working on a team but he accepts anyways for a temporary partnership.
(It is inferred that they have his phone number just in case)
