What a shitty news week. And by week I mean decades long slide into authoritarianism in every country I've had anything to do with.

I keep asking myself why I feel so awful and the answer is that it's not the hangover, it's THAT grief.

It really doesn't help to have opposition leaders who 1) aren't yet truly hurt by the slide and 2) as a result are willing to slide further to gain some kind of foothold from which to launch their amaaaaazing comeback or whatever.
