"Angel Dust is a hurtful gay stereotype"

Yes, Angel is a stereotype of a guy set worker that turns to drugs to dull the pain of his past trauma. One that people relate to. I'm so fucking sick and tired and the soft LGBTQ+ kids coming in and saying we can only have-
Steven Universe-esque representation. Maybe, just maybe SOME of us are queer, trans, former drug addicts who engage in sex work for validation because hypersexuality is also an aspect of serial trauma. Maybe some of us want characters WE can relate to. I would also like to point-
Out that Angel Dust isnt 'making fun of sex workers, he just DOES sex work! In the pilot,, he goes with a John, gets paid, goes home and in ADDICT he pole dances, what part of this is making fun of sex work? I have never related to a cartoon character like Angel-
The pain, the sadness, avoiding people and clinging to his pig for affection because he doesn't trust anyone. Turning to drugs and hiding. Huh, sounds EXACTLY like my life ten years ago. But I'm not allowed to like this character because children find it offensive!
Grow up, some of us live in the underbelly of the happy pappy rainbow bukkake gay kids want to pretend we've always had, some of us were abandoned, pushed aside and had to be homeless, penniless and eat out of garbage cans to survive. You want your soft representation, go watch-
Steven Universe and all the rest of the brightly colored cartoons that I would have killed for as a kid and enjoyed as an adult however, Hazbin Hotel is far more relatable to me and my experience, erasing that because you find it icky erases me.

Okay I have to mute this now as much as I love seeing all the great support and stuff, seeing my picture circulate in not nice places and hitting the block button a thousand times is ... not fun.
