Two months before our marriage, I told my husband to quit his job and go and stay with my father.

My husband had a good job that was paying him in six digits. But when it comes to marriage, one has to prioritise.
I told him he needed to go and stay with my father so that my father can watch him and also teach him certain things. He said "okay."

He stayed with my father for a month before proceeding to stay with my eldest brother in Ibadan.
My father and my brother told me to go ahead; he is very homely.

According to them, he woke up early to wash my brother's car and set breakfast for everyone. I even heard my father intentionally slapped him one day just to know if he will retaliate but he didn't.
That shows my husband is well trained and ready to endure because endurance is necessary in every marriage.

After two months, I asked him to marry me because he passed all the tests.
You might think asking your husband to go stay with your family for some time is old fashioned, but trust me, it works.

If women always send their husbands to stay with their families, they will not have husbands who talk when they are talking.
Or a husband who slaps the father in-law back because the father in-law gave him a small slap.

Women, you are the heads, act like one.

If you are going to honour a man with marriage, let him work hard for it and show you he is ready for the journey.

We have to woman up.
