1/ All these Leb politicians sitting with #Macron were lectured and humiliated. Although Macron shouldn't have this prerogative, they deserve it. They spend their time bickering when the country is in free fall. #Beirut 
2/ The inertia in #Lebanon is not Hezbollah's fault, however, #Hezbollah tolerated this for a long time because it wanted to be part of the system to protect its status. It was a Faustian bargain that is coming to haunt them now, and here is where Hezbollah's sins lie.

3/ The only politician in #Lebanon who cannot be humiliated by a foreign power is #Hezbollah's leader Hassan Nasrallah. He didn't only earn respect, even from his enemies, but he showed us, as a people, what dignity is in the face of learned, interiorised, humiliation.

4/ Tomorrow, #Nasrallah will speak. He will address rumours about Hezbollah. He will be conciliatory, and he will be threatening, but most of all, what he will have to be clear about is where Hezbollah stands vis-a-vis the torpor that has afflicted the political system...
5/ The current political system is collapsing, and it may well take down the Resistance with it. I would say it is collapsing because it integrated the Resistance. For many years, people inside and outside Lebanon were comfortable with the levels of inertia and corruption.
6/ This is the Samson option that foreign, regional and domestic actors have chosen to get rid of Hezbollah.
7/ If anything, pressures put on #Hezbollah show that this group is not a proxy of #Iran, it is a nationalist Lebanese movement. If it were a proxy of Iran, it wouldn't care about the pressures put on them and on #Lebanon .

8/ However, #Hezbollah is the core of the axis of Resistance and it should be seen as such. #Israel, the #US & the West have been circling the axis of Resistance for quite a while now, at least since 2005, and striking where they can, when they can, with failure at every attempt.
9/ It is not true that #Hezbollah is being asked to choose between #Iran and Lebanon, what is being asked of Hezbollah is to end the Resistance to #Israel without concessions for the group or for #Lebanon .

10/ By doing this, the US & western countries are precipitating a non-negotiated, imposed solution for #Israel in Palestine & the whole ME. They're not only aiding and abetting an unjust occupation, but they are turning their back on any just solution to this historical conflict.
