let's talk about the types of attraction that aren't romantic or sexual (a thread)

so you all know about romantic and sexual attractions, but romantic and sexual attractions aren't the only types of attractions that exist.

there are:
aesthetic attraction
sensual attraction
platonic attraction
alterous attraction
queerplatonic attraction

(and maybe even more? i don't know)

aesthetic attraction:

when you appreciate the appearance or beauty of another person, in a way that is disconnected from romantic or sexual attraction.

sensual attraction:

the desire to interact with others in a tactile, non-sexual way. (like cuddling, holding hands, hugging, kissing, etc.)

platonic attraction:

the desire to have a platonic relationship with someone.

alterous attraction:

a grey area between romantic attraction and platonic attraction. it is defined as wanting emotional closeness with someone but not wanting it to be necessarily platonic or romantic.

queerplatonic attraction:

the desire to have a queerplatonic relationship with someone.

the names of the types of crushes that are associated with these attractions:
aesthetic- swish
sensual- lush
platonic- squish
alterous- mesh
queerplatonic- plush/squash

although squish can be used as an umbrella for any non-romantic/sexual crush

you can also label these types of attractions, like for example, pansensual, bialterous, homoaesthetic, panplatonic, etc. kind of like the way i call myself panalterous, if you consider them important to you and you want to label them, of course you don't have to tho.
