Conclusion from the '2 + 2 =' wars:

'2 + 2' can equal anything you want.

If we agree to rules by which it must equal '4', we get everything grounded in math, including science, logic and justice.

If not, we get a brutal, arbitrary world that no reasonable person could prefer

It isn't that 2 + 2 = 4

It is that we must chose between A) a world in which we agree to a shared set of logical rules that facilitate insight and communication. And B) a world in which we sabotage insight so might = right.
