So Water Resources South East, that's @thameswater @AffinityWater @PortsmouthWater @SESWater @sewateruk and @SouthernWater have finally published their plans on how to save our chalk streams.

1. Continue with the EA's WINEP plan.

Well that's policy which has already failed.
2. Focus on what is "Best value for customers and the environment"

In other words carry on as we have done for the last 30 years, do whatever is the cheapest thing we can get away with and make sure we spend as little money as possible.
3. That a “More detailed investigation is needed to understand the complex relationship between abstraction and the environment”.

The water industry has also been kicking that can down the road for the last 30 years and guess what? The EA has fallen for it every time.
Er? That's it.

That's all. There we have it. The water industry's big plan to save our chalk streams is simply to regurgitate the same old failed strategies of the past and that hope that no one notices.

Honestly. Is no one in the water industry capable of original thought?
