Yesterday, I realized again how clueless truly devoted Hindus are. Wife has been a lifelong devotee of Anjaneya. She is more devoted to Hanuma than Rama. She worships Rama only because Hanuma worships Rama. While watching the telecast yesterday ...

"There is no temple now in Ayodhya?"
"There is a small dilapidated shed with a plastic cover on the top. He sat there till now waiting for a temple"
*pupils dilated and sorrow on her face* "Really? even after independence?"

*I, seeing that she has no idea* "Yes ... Thats why this is a very important moment ... there is even a Hanuman murti there which was brought out from inside the masid"

This is a direct result of parents being too sensitive to teach kids. No textbook in a public school will ever teach this. Even if textbook has that content, teacher will not, especially if teacher is Hindu. This is the nature of Hindus.

This is a bigger battle we have to fight. We must teach our kids what we lost. It is not going to be easy. Kids will be conflicted but ultimately, we will have a higher ground because after all, they are our kids!

I remember Sanjay Palahalli ji once said in one of our tweetups in early days of twitter - "I tell my daughter to read and write what textbook says in exam but I teach her true history at home"
