I wish I hadn’t looked at the #DefundTheBBC hashtag. It’s full of right wing idiots completely missing the point about white privilege. Defunding the BBC would be an absolute disaster and we would lose an iconic British institution. I don’t always agree with what the BBC does -

- but it produces some utterly outstanding drama, radio and film. The BBC is to be treasured, not defunded. It’s a wonderful thing and those that complain now will be the first to moan if it does go.

The BBC needs saving, not defunding. Our awful government want to dismantle it. We should save it. World class for me in the films, dramas, shows and radio it makes.
