We're being asked to wear face coverings and masks on a daily basis, in a variety of settings, across the UK

Many people are wearing their mask correctly, but many are not

Here are some easy things to avoid, when wearing a mask

Do not wear your mask around the chin đŸ˜·

The mask should cover your mouth and nose and hook behind your face

If it's around your chin - it's not protecting anyone

Don't wear loose fitting masks

The mask should go from the top of your nose to under your mouth, with no gaps between your face and the material

Do not pull the mask away from your face to speak đŸ—Łïž

Coronavirus is spread when droplets are sprayed into the air when people cough, sneeze or talk, those droplets can then fall on surfaces

Don't touch the front of the mask 🩠

Be careful taking the mask off - clean your hands before and after
Wash your mask (if it's reusable), or dispose of it, after every use to avoid spreading the virus

Do not share your mask

Sharing the mask with others could spread the virus - the mask has come into close contact with both of you

Don't use your mask if it’s damaged or damp 💧

Disposable face coverings should also be thrown away after each use, or as soon as they become damp according to the World Health Organization

Reusable face coverings need washed after every use
