This payment in coffee storo reminded me of a time in 2019 when some Kenyan folk wanted me to speak at a gig that was sold out but wanted to pay me with VVIP dinner

Tickets were sold with guest speakers being flown from Amerika yet somehow meeee I was to get food

Imagine someone reaching out to me "A Whole ME" requesting that I accept a VVIP food voucher in exchange for over 10 years of work, experience, time, credibility, knowledge and constant learning/reading?

The madness!

Even at the time of them reaching out, I was out of country being paid to speak while back home I'm being asked to create time in my paid schedule for food currency!! LOL

Anyway, I've learnt to call ppl out. Loudly and boldly especially where self worth is in question.

Food is not currency
Exposure is not currency
Platitudes is not currency

Pay people in money and money ONLY because anything else is mere nonsense and ingredients.
