Mockery And Islam

We live in a time were people mock others faith just to prove their point in shades of being on right faith & such activities have been celebrated. But what makes a believer different from a disbeliever? It’s salah ofcorse but also it’s your path of life.

Mocking have been in existence since time of prophet Muhammad pbuh & till date it hasn’t run out it’s course. But as people believe mocking others faith is a befitting reply even after in Quran it’s stated: “And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult
+
Allah in enmity without knowledge.

Thus We have made pleasing to every community with their deeds” Surah Anam (108)

But we live in daur e jaheliyah so bit of us turn rusty too, we left our focus of faith far bit thanks to our very own egos.

Islam have been Mocked over the ages,

but never in history of islam, ummah has mocked others to justify their faith. Al-Mawardi reported: Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, said, “Beware of mockery, for it can be foolishness that produces grudges.” Some of the wise men said, “

Indeed, mockery is a form of insult, unless it makes the recipient laugh.”

And it is said, “Mockery is only named as such because it misdirects one from the truth.”

Aisha reported: I said to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, “Such is enough for Safiyyah,” making fun of her short stature. The Prophet said, “You have said a word that would pollute the water of the sea if mixed with it.”

Were even some miscalculated (intentionally or unintentionally) mocking is also form of art (such as poetry which prophet Muhammad pbuh verified to go ahead with) But his words has always been clear: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
+
“The Muslim does not slander, curse, speak obscenely or speak rudely.” [al-Tirmidhi]. Even cursing is a sin (may allah swt forgive me as i cursed some recently).Indeed we all learn from our sins & if we don’t then we are facing towards arrogance than repentance.

May Allah swt give hidayah to all.
