I recently got an oculus & love it. @chelscore what’s the feeling on creating VR experiences for social experiments though? Like the idea of walking in the shoes of a black person or a minority to see what it’s like to experience a myriad of micro-aggressions often described
but not always believed. Like being followed in a store? Or having people cross the street to avoid you? Or even giving them the ability to literally look in the mirror and see themselves as a person of color. I’m not thinking this is something that would be sold
But something that could be used to test people’s beliefs and guide people to some empathy. And another idea that I wondered about is if it could also help young people that are struggling with their gender identity have an experience available to them
where they can look at themselves as a different gender to help them make work through any emotions they may have with gender dysmorphia. I’m so new to all of this VR stuff and I love all the games and what not I’m just curious on how
it could be used for so many therapeutic and sociological reasons too. It’s all very black mirror type thoughts here, but still so curious. I googled a little but just wondered on your thoughts since you work there. :)
