why cass didn't deserve to go to jail, a thread

first of all, i'm getting lots of these comments from varian stans and i can't say i'm surprised. varian was FOURTEEN when he got sent to PRISON. let's remember all his actions. he kidnapped the queen, threatened the kingdom and the princess, and put everyone in danger in such a

-young age. did he have any right to do it? no. why did he do it? because he was neglected, ignored, helpless. his own father nearly dying. but also, what can princess rapunzel even do? she can't save quirin (that was when she didn't know about the hurt incantation).

but can we blame varian for not knowing this? no! he's a child, all he wanted was for the person he trusted the most to help him. and she didn't because she was literally in charge of the whole kingdom. can we blame rapunzel? no. can we blame varian? no.

now, varian was sent to prison but WHO sent him to prison? IT WASN'T RAPUNZEL, IT WAS FREDRERIC! rapunzel never wanted varian to go to jail! i'm sure rapunzel wanted to stop her father but she didn't know how to stand up for herself that time yet and after a whole fight in the

-kingdom and having a whole argument with her father, it won't make it easy for her to just scold her dad whatsoever. fred is STRICT and rapunzel was scared. again, rapunzel never wanted varian to go to jail.

now, cass was manipulated by a demon. zhan tiri filled cassandra's head with so many things and she knew cass was an easy target because of how she's treated. in other words, she USED cassandra's past to manipulate her into betraying her friends and basically everyone.

look, i'm not saying what cass did wasn't wrong because her actions were terrible but why? um what would you feel if you found out your mother is gothel? GOTHEL!!!!! what would you feel if you've been neglected by everyone? i'm sure cass wanted to love gothel but not as an

-"i love you" kind of way but as an "i'm forced to love you and you are too" way. but wait...gothel didn't love her. she never did. which broke cassandra's heart and made her miserable life more miserable. before anyone says "oh but she's best friends with the princess, she

-"works in the castle and she's rapunzel's most trusted person!". that doesn't mean cass's feelings aren't valid. rapunzel and eugene made her happy. but they were her ONLY happiness. and rapunzel and eugene only came into her life when she was 22. so think about it...cass

-lived for 22 years without any close friends. i'm sure she probably talked to some people but she wasn't as close with them as she is with rapunzel.

back to cassandra's actions, she destroyed the kingdom, almost destroyed rapunzel, almost killed one of the most important people in rapunzel's life and so many other things. didn't varian do the same? okay he didn't destroy the kingdom but he did some serious damage to the

-castle. i'm sure he would've caused more damage but he didn't have any powers unlike cass. varian kidnapped the queen. cass kidnapped varian. varian nearly killed rapunzel and so did cass. varian nearly killed the queen too and cass nearly killed eugene.

so both of them did terrible things but only one of them went to jail. and the younger one did. what happened in jail? andrew convinced him into doing more horrible things. SEE? HE'S TO YOUNG TO BE IN PRISON!!!

rapunzel let cass go and i know she wanted to do that to varian after that whole fight in "secret of the sundrop". but again, fred sent him to jail. cass is a new person now, she deserves to learn from her mistakes, no one in control of her life, and she is finally free.
