2nd trimester. Obgyn resident wanted to admit her until she delivered.
She was w/ her husband but they needed someone to care for their toddler son. And the husband works.
So they left the hospital & would try to go to the clinic the next day.

When her story was told to the other residents it ended with: "And... she left AMA."

It sounded as if they were enjoying a joke. And the laughter really haunted me.
