Noam Chomsky has made this same point and I know that he's deeply influenced Robinson, moreso than Marx. Would he object to being called a Chomskyan?

Broad statements like "Insight is collective not individual" are admittedly a pet peeve of mine. Sometimes insight is collective, sometimes it's individual. I don't think you have to totally reject individualism to be Marxist, but hey, that's just my interpretation!
