Robin Lehner joined the show today, and made salient points on his decision to kneel.

“The majority of them, their initial reaction was straight away, I went to fight for my country to protect the freedom of the people and part of that freedom is freedom of speech.”

“None of them that I’ve talked to... close to me... have no problems with it, because they know That it’s not about the military. They know what the purpose is and what we’re trying to do.”
“Everyone that’s taking a knee has made it fairly clear that this is not about the military, it’s about the injustice. It’s about equality. But everyone wants to keep bringing it back to respecting the military. And that’s not what it’s about.”
“To be quite honest, and it might be a sensitive subject for people to hear Everyone wants to stand up and applaud and salute the military, but they don’t take care of them. I spent 3 months in rehab with only military people for my PTSD, and they’re not getting them any help.”
“They’re not treating them well. How many veterans are on the streets, homeless in this country. Every big city that I’ve played in I’ve seen them. It’s maybe time to stop just saluting and applauding them, too, and actually give them the help they need.”
Lehner is referencing his friends in the military, who he spoke with about his decision to kneel, and their support of the action.
