We are a proud member of the Re-Imagine L.A. County coalition which believes that in order to end the systemic racism that has caused decades of poverty, homelessness, and unequal access to education and opportunity, we must start by investing in people, not incarceration.
We want to thank @SheilaKuehl, @mridleythomas, @HildaSolis, @SupJaniceHahn for taking this crucial step toward a budget that prioritizes housing, jobs, and community investment.
Although the road to racial and economic equity is long, #ReimagineLA is an important step toward addressing the deep inequities brought about by decades of racist policies.
The measure that will now be on the November ballot would amend the county charter and ensure that at least 10% of the county’s unrestricted budget goes toward crucial services that will help vulnerable and historically underfunded communities thrive.
We know that yesterday’s vote was the result of thousands of supporters who submitted public comment, called in, or emailed their supervisors in support of the values embodied by #ReimagineLA.
To ensure this measure gets passed in November, we must continue this momentum and build advocates in every neighborhood & community across Los Angeles.

We’re eager to get to work and we hope you’ll join us.
