2. Through the use of the blockchain tech we can have a transparent procurement process across all govt departments, funds disbursements that solves the problem of over-expenditure for the govt, mgmt of govt resources allocations programmes @Wamagaisa @matigary
3. Being a distributed ledger system, the tech can be highly available and not so difficult to implement once the right policy framework is put in place and it can have immense benefits in aiding revenue collections hence improve the govt’s purse. @ShingiMunyeza @nigelchanakira
4. By automating & integrating govt services & avail an API that interfaces with private legacy systems & charge a trxn fee, the govt can hv an accurate account of tax returns, since the API can also link to the national payments switch, formal trade can be widened @Min_of_IC
5. Another low hanging fruit is accounting for the land deeds, with a lot of people losing their money because of bogus developers, each piece of land can have a clear & easily verifiable digital record, this can also aid in bringing order to land reform prog. @MoLAWRR_Zim
6. I see an opportunity in solving our energy problems if we integrate renewable energies into the grid, create an energy market that tracks micro-prod trends and suggests distribution patterns & sets dynamic tarrifs, all this can be run on the blockchain @fortunechasi
7. Such a model can open up new markets and speed up the rural electrification programme by aiding optimal energy distribution, i.e if Hre has an excess, Mtoko can access energy at a cheaper tarrif hence making new services easily available @ZetdcOfficial @PTChimusoro
8. From transacting on such an agnostic platform, access to capital for SMEs and entrepreneurs can be made easier since their trading record can be easily verified by investors and other institutions & also data for forecasting will be available to aid growth @nigelchanakira
9. Currently a small tomato farmer who has sold more than 20tons of produce over the past 5yrs has no way to prove that hence they can’t make a case when seeking capital to scale their operations, such a platform can show immense contributions from marginal areas @BusaniMoyo23
10. Once we get it right, the platform can benefit not only Zim but the sadc region and beyond. We have lots of capable people to make it happen, all we need is the policy backing and sincerity to develop our country. @UKinZimbabwe @ZimTreasury @MthuliNcube @usembassyharare
11. Upto this point, only a portion of the blockchain tech has been evangelized, which is the cryptocurrencies part but there’s a lot more we can do and Zim can thrive in that space and shape the future and how we will manage it better, lets do it. @1changamire @DFID_UK
