I just got actively angry pondering how poorly enforced labor protections are in this country, and likely worse in this pandemic recession. Wage theft is old news, but it gets worse in a recession, & now people will also get sick in unsafe working conditions at low(er)-wage jobs.
Meanwhile, McConnell is advocating for liability protections, which is the opposite of what is needed. Liability protections harm workers *and* the employers who are less exploitative.

What we need is more enforcement and more worker voice in the process.
Anecdote: someone I know was denied over-time pay & paid sick days in LA, then expressed concerns about pandemic workplace safety, then was "let go" shortly after raising complaints.

In the state w/ better enforcement! h/t @NewRiverInvest for this thread. https://twitter.com/nithyavraman/status/1290741517594660865
