Team Apocalypse v Team Reality, a story in two acts. ACT 1: @nytimes finds a rural hospital in a tiny and desperately poor county on the US/Mexico border - a hospital with NO intensive care beds - and proceeds to proclaim that the #Covid outbreak is “like a horror movie.”

ACT 2: The Texas Medical Center - a group of Houston hospitals that collectively has more employees than the entire population of Starr County - posts daily data showing that the #covid epidemic in southeast Texas is well past its peak, no discussion of horror movies...

So who’s lying about what’s happening in Texas? Technically, nobody.

But only Team Reality is telling the truth.

Team Apocalypse is getting the Pulitzer, though.
