So writing for TV has caused me to question many things. Especially the offhand uncommented and unexplained tropes of TV and movies. I find myself writing a scene in which someone does something I& #39;ve never seen anyone actually do in real life but happens constantly on TV.

Example: I have never in my life gone into a bathroom during a stressful moment so I could splash water on my face. But everyone on TV and Movies does that. It& #39;s how you know they& #39;re stressed.

What& #39;s thing that TV people do all the time that you have never done?

Me: Drop something important in the toilet on accident.
