Today I learned that the precolonial Philippine Pantheon of gods were very progressive. They are almost on the same level as the Greco-Roman Pantheon.

The Philippine country is so rich with history I did not even know about, and I find it so fascinating.
Basically, the god of death, Sidapa was enamored by the beauty of the god of the moon, Libulan. Sidapa courted Libulan but didn’t even realize that the god of the moon was a man. Until today, they both are happily together on Mt. Madjaas.
Lakapati is known as the kindest fairy in all of the Philippines. They are an androgynous deity that protects families from stravation and famine. They are married to Malupon, the god of seasons. Lakapati translates to “Feed the slaves, let them not hunger.”
