RE: Falwell’s Response to the Photos and Video from the Yacht.
This is a non-answer meant to appease and deflect through good ‘ol boy rhetoric. It is more than worthy of condemnation. https://wlni.com/news/jerry-falwell-jr-responds-to-viral-instagram-post

“I’ve promised my kids I’m going to try to be a good boy from here on out.”
This is by no means Falwell’s first offense.
“As a dog returns to its vomit, so a fool repeats his foolishness.” - Proverbs 26:11

We all make mistakes. We all need grace in justice. But mercy comes through repentance which *requires* change.
Falwell is foolish - both in what he does & what he refuses to do.
Showing “mercy” by not removing him is enabling foolishness. It is, ultimately, not merciful.

Many students stood before student councils, sat in RAs’ rooms, spoke w/ faculty imploring that leadership to let them as students continue in their extracurricular activities/academic programs on the basis that they *would* do better.
These students were denied the chance.
These students were denied the chance.
Whether or not they should have been denied is a discussion for a different day, but to foreclose a *learning* position to a student because of an offense when you won’t foreclose a *leadership* position to an adult because of the same offense is glaringly unjust.
“It was a costume party. We were on vacation. It was just in good fun.”
Students who have been caught with the *possession* of cigarettes & alcohol have been fined and punished. Students who drank w/ their *parents* on vacation were fined & dismissed.

Students who were celebrating 21st birthdays, a retirement of a parent or boss, etc. were punished, not for “good fun,” but for reckless behavior.
And they were young adults. Young people who lost extracurricular spots & the scholarships & opportunities attached.
And they were young adults. Young people who lost extracurricular spots & the scholarships & opportunities attached.
Young people who scrambled to find another place of education - or couldn’t and didn’t. Some of these young people’s “good fun” cost them a hefty price. The same should apply to Falwell.
“You have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. In passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.” Rom. 2:1
He endorsed & signed off on judgements against others while he flagrantly practices the very same things

Falwell deserves condemnation from the institution.
He has long deserved it.
Praying for him and removing him are not mutually exclusive. Pray for him AND remove him.

For those wondering, his voice in this interview is consistent with what his voice normally sounds like.
Most likely, he is not under any influence.
This should not make you feel better.

This should increase your concern that, even in a fine state with a jovial interviewer, he is unable to produce a valid reason or coherent justification for his actions.
He is not wise. He is not a good leader.
