There is literally too much happening in the wake of the #Beirut_Explosion to keep up with it all.

But there are at least four big, ongoing stories... (THREAD)
1. Triage: Getting people the medical treatment they need; reorganizing a very damaged health care system; helping those in serious/critical condition.

2. Cleanup: Lots of people out today to begin the process of cleaning up. It will take days just to sweep up all the glass.
3. Shock & grief: I have not spoken to anyone living in Beirut who was not affected. The lucky among us got out unscathed with minimal damage to our homes. But we all know people who weren't so fortunate.

This is going to take time to deal with.
4. Anger: During the thawra, a thought quietly coursed through the back of many minds, but rarely found a voice.

Now, the unspoken has been uttered: The only way to get rid of the incompetent men who run Lebanon is to kill them.

(To be clear, I am not condoning this.)
Right now, the first three stories are huge – as they should be.

But watch out for the fourth. Once Lebanon has finished treating its wounded, burying its dead, and cleaning up Beirut, it will be time to seek justice.
