DIGITAL DIVIDE: Not everyone has the luxury of affording internet. Some can, but are also out of range for high speed internet.

. @spokaneschools says it will be giving each student a laptop. Families who don’t have internet, or can’t afford it, can sign up to get an internet hot spot to bring home and use. #4NewsNow

For families living in remote areas, where hot spots might not work, the district says it’s looking at “offline” options. This means teaching sessions could be recorded & watched without internet.

It’s possible families would have to go to school buildings to download them.
