[Thread] Charlie Puth’s history of supporting and enabling sexual assault

Before I start, I want to let you know that many users have made threads similar to this that have now been deleted, so if anything happens, I found a YouTube video with most of this thread’s information

Sexual coercion allegations: a while ago, an anonymous user sent these DMs to a fan account for them to add to their thread about Charlie’s past. The resulting tweet of these claims circulated widely, even making it to the YT video, while Charlie Puth has yet to acknowledge them

TW Rape/ These claims come after a history of defending abusers. When artists everywhere supported Kesha during her lawsuit, CP refused. When confronted, he called her rapist his “idol” & blamed her for “taking the focus off of the music” by coming forward

A year later, CP likes a tweet by white supremacist blogger Mark Dice (we should probably discuss that part too) joking about Kesha’s body being diseased. Mark Dice is extremely far right, and in context of the case, believes that Kesha was at fault for Dr. Luke abusing her.

Charlie still follows Dr. Luke on Twitter. Regardless of if you believe Kesha (who you should), many other women have come forward about being abused by him and he is in business with other predators. Charlie Puth also shared that he would produce alleged peodphile (and almost registered sex offender) 6ix9ine’s next album for free once he was released from prison, and later liked his Instagram post about chart manipulation

When Justin Bieber (who, in addition to facing several allegations of abuse, has worked with R. Kelly and is managed by Scooter Braun) shared an Instagram message where he admitted to being abusive, Charlie Puth responded on Twitter with “I can relate”

I just want to share that the main point of this thread was to share information that already exists. These are all events that happened publicly on the internet, and my goal is to recieve SOME of clarification or acknowledgement of how these actions have affected survivors
