There are a lot of silly positions we are required to take in this politically correct age, but among the silliest is that Beyoncé is some kind of staggering artistic genius. Everything she does receives unanimous worshipful praise. She’s a middling pop star. Get a grip folks.
I listened to some of the tracks on her latest album. They’re fine. It’s pop music. Katy Perry caliber. I admit I’m not the audience for this stuff but don’t tell me this is a “masterpiece.” Come on.

This is not brilliance, folks. It’s barely mediocrity.
By the way, Billboard called the above song “jaw dropping” and the best on the album
