But it is worth remembering that the barriers to participating in the capitalist competitive workforce are many, varied and significant.

Essential to elevate my legs, unpredictable urgency to use and amount of time spent in bathroom are just a few of mine.

I think it's really vital to remember these things when people like the Rick Hansen Foundation and Liberal Party promote the idea that the road to better lives for disabled people in Canada is for them to get to work and that a ramp, etc. at the office will make this possible.

Not all disabled people can work in the workforce and any suggestion that employment is the route to freedom for disabled people is a suggestion that we leave some people behind.
