Here we compare the #covid19 case trajectories in two states, #az and #ny. When aligning the two time series by their peak daily case total, we see that New York exhibited a sharper increase, but that the improvement in case numbers for both are tracking quite closely! #dataviz

If the pattern holds, we’d expect Arizona to reach a baseline level of daily cases (~8 per 100,000) by the end of August. Let’s hope the improvement continues!

One week later, Arizona continues to improve with regards to #covid19 in a very similar fashion to New York’s improvement in the Spring. In fact, AZ now has fewer cases per 100,000 than NY at the same point after their respective daily peaks. #dataviz #rstats
