We are a huge supporter of local business but let’s quickly explain why music venues or local businesses who regularly host live music need special treatment. 1) music venues support the livelihood of a whole other population within the community

To break it down further... not only do venues support local musician communities (in DC proper that is over 5000 residents) but they support the livelihood of musicians from all over the region and the US.

2) local venues also support an entire other industry including sound engineers, managers, bookers, publicists etc

3) Venues also hire and support bartenders, waitstaff, kitchen staff and almost every other employee that traditional bars and restaurants hire.

If this thread does not help explain why music venues need to be their own category of business seeking their own form of COVID... let’s point you to DC’s reopening plan, where music venues are the absolute last businesses that will be allowed to re open.
