88rising be like “we support blm and pledge to use our platform to invite conversation” and then allow a label member to continue culturally appropriating black hair. @88rising if y’all REALLY cared like you claimed u did in ur pr statements, masiwei wouldn’t have that hair rn
@88rising whether or not you want to admit it, masiwei still represents the label at the end of the day. his act of CA contributes to the perception of the label. its embarrassing that y’all wanna spew out your pr statements just to not follow it with matching actions accordingly
@88rising it’s also not fair that the label in a way represents asian americans and this just contributes to the antiblackness within the asian community. if you want to be the empowering label you claim to be, then do better and call masiwei out for being racist.
@88rising recognize the type of influence 88 and masiwei has on your audience. if y’all weren’t gonna fully commit to being anti-racist then why even make that pr statement? it’s starting to look more and more performative now. very disappointing
@88rising take this thread as me taking you up on your invitation to the conversation. I hope my concerns spark your conversation with masiwei since it doesn’t really look like it’s been had already. please learn from this and DO BETTER.
